James 5:19-20
[19] My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, [20] let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
Head: Do you believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life? That no one can come to God except through Him?
Heart: How can you grow to love your brothers and sisters in Christ more?
Hands: What steps are you taking these days to deepen your relationships with Christian brothers and sisters?
We have to look out for one another. And sometimes, this requires speaking words that may be difficult to hear. But they are necessary for the spiritual life of a fellow friend. So let's focus on getting to a point with one another, that even if we have to speak words of rebuke to each other, that these words will be received with sincerity and trust.
In order to do so, we need to build relationships that are built on trust, filled with mutual respect, and covered in love. This requires us to be intentional in our relationships. Not only do we build relationships to be personally fulfilled, but we are also called to build relationships for the sake of the body of Christ.
Sacrifice and serve one another; this will build love. Encourage each other often and build each other up. When rebuke is necessary, do so prayerfully and graciously. Then you can trust more that you have each other's best interest in mind. Take your faith seriously and strive to shape your life around Jesus. This will build mutual respect for one another, that you're trying to honor Jesus through your words and actions.
